The architect of this almost immaculate object, Stéfano Cittolin of Cittolin Polli & Associés, in Martigny (VS), is a guide: "This house was designed to have generous communal spaces - like the double-height living room - that interact with the outside world. Without stuttering, in a gentle fluidity, it should be said. On this level, which also houses a guest bedroom with en-suite shower room, a vast volume extends beyond the kitchen, housing here the dining room and there the famous double-height living room, enhanced, like most of the rooms, by white lacquered MDF furniture designed by our contact.

Further on, slightly separated from the living room by a curtain of wires that create a dance of transparency, a study - the only room to do so - opens onto the south. Nearby, a home cinema room with dark brown walls adorned with a pair of Ligne Roset Louis 5d Plexiglas sconces in the style of seventeenth-century chandeliers completes the inventory. Fully open to nature thanks to a fifteen-metre long glass “wall” stretching from floor to ceiling in its sliding eloxed aluminium frames, most of these volumes for meeting and sharing extend their conviviality outside, over the pool and the garden, via passages with no thresholds.

The whole, which is very graphic but above all very symmetrical, both in terms of space and furniture, imperceptibly punctuated by nine 170-centimetre grids, provides, according to Stefano Cittolin's design, ‘both a visual line and a guideline, through the constant repetition of reference lines’.
